Rising Star of the Year – Entry Form

This award celebrates a student currently attending an independent school in the UK or a British international school—or one who has only recently moved on—who has achieved something truly remarkable during their school years.

Our judges are keen to hear the story behind your nominee. Tell us what sets them apart and, above all, how they have overcome challenges or gone well beyond what might ordinarily be expected for someone of their age or background. Before submitting your entry, please ensure that the student concerned—and their parents or guardians, where appropriate—have given their consent.

The questions below should guide your entry. Do make sure you show how your nominee plays a part in the wider life of the school community, not simply their individual achievements.

  • What makes your Rising Star nominee so special?
Tell us about what they have accomplished—whether in academic life, the arts, sport, leadership, service or life challenges —and why their contribution or achievements deserve recognition. (Around 200 words.)
  • In 2025–26, judges are particularly interested in students whose achievements highlight the strengths of an independent school education.
Why do you believe your nominee stands out as an example of the sector at its best, embodying its ethos, opportunities and values? (Around 150 words.)
  • What impact has your Rising Star had on the life of your school? Include reflections or testimonials—from the Head and others in the community—that help explain why this student is such a deserving candidate for the award. (Around 150 words.)
