The British International School of the Year – Entry Form

Our judges want to hear your story: what made your school come alive during 2025-26, why you take pride in working there, and why your pupils enjoy an experience that’s truly second to none. Bring your school to life with examples, anecdotes, and any data that shows the impact of what you do—but don’t just drop in lists. Above all, let us feel the pulse of life in your international school as if the judges themselves were walking through your doors.

Resilience is very much the watchword of the moment in our sector, prompting a clear-eyed focus on the future amongst leadership teams up and down the country. So please weave an explanation of how your school is taking sensible, forward-thinking steps to shore up its long-term stability into your answers.

Here are the questions to guide your entry—remember, we’re looking for the story of your school as a standout British international school, not just a great school in general:

  • Why is your school special?
What is it about life in your international community that sets your school apart from other British international schools? Share the achievements and moments of pride that show why your school is truly ‘best in class’. Let us see what makes your pupils flourish, whether through academic success, cultural experiences, or the sense of community that makes your school feel unique. Paint us a picture of the energy, the excitement, and the pride of being part of your school. (Around 200 words)
  • How has your international-British character met students’ needs in 2025-26?
Show us how the blend of British values and international outlook has created a school experience that really works for your students this year. Were there special projects, initiatives, or events that made a tangible difference? Highlight what makes your school distinctive and what you’re particularly proud of in ensuring your pupils thrive academically, socially, and culturally. (Around 150 words)
  • What are the values of your school, and how do they shape your pupils?
Describe the principles that guide your school community and the impact they have on your international students. How does your school prepare them for adulthood, life in a global society, and the challenges of the 21st century? Let us feel the character, confidence, and curiosity your students develop in your care. (Around 150 words)
